My translation into German of Yvonne Billow's excellent book " English Springer Spaniel, An Owner's Guide" published by HarperCollins, London is now available as a paperback supplement (text only, no photos) in "Double Pack" with the Original for the German speaking reader.
I thank Yvonne Billows for permission to translate her book and use it as guidance for the translation. My thanks also go to Cathy Gosling, Editorial Director of HarperCollins for making the translation possible.
The agreement with HaperCollins stated: It must be a faithful and accurate translation and one copy of the finished translation must be supplied to HarperCollins, Publisher of the original work.
I was also given the right to include the different rules laid down by the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) and the "Jagdspaniel-Klub" for breeding and showing,, and to ensure that my personal views were made obvious.
I quote from a letter I received from Cathy Gosling, Editorial Director, HarperCollins Publisher: "Thank you for your letter dated 8 November 99 and for the copy of the German supplement. You have done a very good job with it."
